Okotoks Minor Hockey Association
Hi-Tek Development has been partnering with the Okotoks Minor Hockey Association for the past four years in coach mentorship and player development. This year we are supporting teams and coaches in the divisions (males & females) of Atom to Midgets. In these divisions we work with all House and Tiered level teams.
Our goal is to develop relationships with coaches and deliver effective mentoring practices to them. There are many definitions of mentorship in today’s literature that share many of the same ideas. We see mentorship as developing coaches/people around the game of hockey.
We believe that our staff has useful experience in knowledge, understanding and skills. Our job is to now pass on information, advice and provide feedback in an effective way. We want to add a support system for each coach and help their development.
Hi-Tek Development keeps in contact with Okotoks Minor Hockey President Geoff Stewart and VP Coach/Player Development Josh Esler throughout the season. We want to ensure that we have open lines of communication and be accountable to the Association.
Once again we are looking forward to supporting coaches and teams. Our staff wants to be as flexible and accessible as possible so please contact us whenever you need support. Our program is structured in a way that we are always interacting with coaches and teams. We are at the rinks helping on-ice, observing games and practices, giving coaches feedback, creating and providing resources/materials. We communicate in as many ways as possible and are always available to meet and talk.
Jay Langager is the lead Hi-Tek staff instructor for the Okotoks Minor Hockey Association. Chris Leroux and Mike Wevers are based out of Lethbridge but also available to support at any time. Chris is in Okotoks a few times a month working with coaches and teams.
